During the past two or three centuries there has been a steady increase in population growth, it has been rapid in the past 20 years. Over 60% of the world population would be concentrated in the urban cities by the year 2020, expected by United Nations (UN). This will increase demand for transportation. Intelligent transportation is the backbone of smart cities. Important element of modern economy is Transport. In many developed countries, transportation occupy 6-12% of the GDP.

Transportation improves our lives but having some unsolved problems such as congestions, road accidents, traffic. Due to congestion around the urban areas, European Commission, the EU loses 1% of their GDP per year. Only road transport occupy for more than 40% of Carbon Dioxide (CO2) across the globe and 60% occupy for other pollutants.

Transportation is major factor for market to grow and if it is made smart than it would be like a jewel in the crown. According to recently published report, smart transportation market rise in CAGR by 18%. Several manufacturers want to adopt the strategy of collaboration with other giants due to rise in demand of the smart transportation market. Recently, D-link tie-up business  partnership with MOXA. The one is Dubai based networking vendor and other is based in Taiwan. They both have target to supply the channel with industrial networking equipment. According to the SakkeerHussain, the director of D- link, the partnership between the two companies would strengthen them. Uber is biggest competitor in the Asia region. Association  betweenDidi and Toxify includes an confidential investment by the former one into later. This agreement offers great benefit to Didi but latters co-founders remain most of the stake holders in the company. The association would also act as a gateway to the Europe by Didi.

Henceforth the conclusion is investments and collaborations open new possibilities for the global smart transportation market.
